  • Cyhana is a User Experience (UX) Researcher with Microsoft, focusing on software design and development research. She is also a Co-Founder of African Women in GIS (AWiGIS) alongside Chidimma C. Umeogu-Maduka from #Nigeria. AWiGIS is an online community organization for African Women around the world who study, work or are enthusiasts about the geospatial industry.

    Before moving to Microsoft in 2020, Cyhana worked as a GIS Mapping Specialist at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa – Voltic Ghana Limited, where she created efficient delivery route maps for product distributors and managed the company’s customer geodata. Utilizing GIS in the company project allowed it to be listed as part of Special Achievement in GIS 2020 Esri UC awardees.

    During her National Service, she took up several roles in a start-up GIS and Software company. There, she coordinated a Pest and Disease Management System project presented at various institutions and won the Frontier Innovation award during the Fall Army Worm Tech Prize in 2018.

    In addition, Cyhana was named as one of the 50 Rising Stars of Geospatial in February 2021 and is listed in the Esri's Women and GIS - Volume 2’ book. She enjoys talking about Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geo-business, tech and personal branding.
