Change and transition are a big part of the human experience. The Greek philosopher Heraclitus is credited with the idea that the only constant in life is change. Only fragments of his writings remain, one in which he says: Everything changes and nothing remains still; and you cannot step twice into the same stream. Buddhism teaches that change is an inevitable part of life, and that nothing is permanent. And of course David Bowie said- Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes Turn and face the strange Ch-ch-changes Pretty soon now you're gonna get older Time may change me But I can't trace time. Today we are going to talk about change and loss- two topics that most people I know avoid.
