  • The Science of Bad Vibes
    Jun 18 2024

    Text Vanessa Your Thoughts!

The science of bad vibes is interesting. Have you ever visited a place that felt unusually peaceful or, conversely, oppressively heavy? Throughout my travels to various haunted locations, I’ve encountered places steeped in history and tragedy, where visitors often sense lingering negativity. Sensitive individuals are especially prone to feeling these residual vibrations, a phenomenon explained by theories of emotional residue and geopathic stress.

Emotional residue suggests that past emotions can leave an imprint on a place, detectable through chemical signals like those emitted through tears and sweat. Research supports the idea that humans can unconsciously communicate emotions through chemosignals, influencing others' feelings and behaviors.

Geopathic stress, on the other hand, is believed to arise from distortions in the Earth’s energy, potentially caused by geological faults, underground water, or man-made structures. This stress is thought to lead to health issues like fatigue, insomnia, and headaches. Historically, ancient societies recognized the impact of Earth's energies on human well-being, guiding the placement of their cities and structures based on natural indicators.

Despite modern science's struggle to fully understand these phenomena, personal experiences reveal the profound impact of a place’s vibrations. I’ve lived in locations that drained my creativity and others that inspired it, highlighting the importance of being attuned to the energy around us.

Join me as I delve into the science and stories behind these mysterious forces and share your own experiences of places that have affected you. Someone you know might be suffering from the negative energy of their environment—share this episode and let them know they’re not alone.

  • The Rings of Fairies
    Nov 28 2023

    Text Vanessa Your Thoughts!

In the eerie twilight of superstition and science, fairy rings stand as enigmatic symbols at the crossroads of the mystical and the mundane. Whispered in folklore as the nocturnal dance floors of capricious fairies, these circles ensnare the unwary traveler in a timeless grip, spinning tales of lost time and otherworldly encounters. Yet, beneath this spectral veil lies a more earthly, yet no less haunting truth: a silent, creeping network of fungi, expanding in ghostly circles, consuming the very essence of the soil. These rings, whether marked by lush verdure or deadened grass, are nature's own cryptic signature, a reminder that even in the clarity of science, the world retains its shadowy mysteries and unspoken enchantments.

  • Victorian Funeral and Mourning Practices with Jennifer Guthrie
    Nov 6 2023

    Text Vanessa Your Thoughts!

In the shadowed corners of the Victorian era, death wasn't just an event; it was an art form. Wrapped in layers of ritual and superstition, Victorian funeral customs created an eerie dance with the departed. From post-mortem photographs where the deceased posed eerily alive, to mourning jewelry crafted from the hair of the lost, every tradition was steeped in significance. The mourners, draped in black crepe, observed strict mourning periods, their attire shifting in subtle ways as time passed. Whispered tales told of spirits communicating through seances, while ornate headstones and crypts ensured the dead were memorialized in grandeur. Dive deep into the chilling world of Victorian mourning practices, where the boundaries between life and death were delicately blurred. Dive in… if you dare.
