  • Welcome to Prayers to Players, where I'll be talking about current events in the sports industry, and the intersection of faith and sports while standing in the gap spiritually for athletes!

    I've been blessed to pray over people from all walks of life; among them several athletes and celebrities, and the common theme has always been about the struggle to keep the faith in the midst of fortune and fame. As a lifelong athlete who dedicated my life to Christ Yahshua in his twenties, I came to understand that athleticism is a gift, and while your gift will make room for you, there is a responsibility that we all have to keep divine order in our lives when it comes to balancing our family, ministry, and the open doors to our careers and dreams that our gift creates. Tune in as we take a deep dive into all of these topics!!

    This is an issue close to my heart and I felt it necessary to talk about it on my podcast. I live in Belleville, New Jersey; a beautiful town with some great people. Yet it grieves me to say that this town has an issue with racism and the people most affected by it are our Latino families, specifically our students at Belleville High School. While MAGA teachers are allowed to intimidate and bully our students via their political statements while on the job, our Superintendent is doing nothing about it. Please help my wife and I bring awareness to this issue and fight for our students and families.

    From inside the huddle as a player and taking x's and o's for yourself to now Coaching outside the huddle is a big transformation. I got to speak to my brother minister Daniel who is currently coaching youth basketball. We go in depth about the challenges that some of the younger athletes go through. Sports can become a very positive outlet for so many. To become a great coach, you have to wear many hats. Everything you do will either inspire good or bad. On and off the court you become an example. Minister Daniel or Coach D as his players call him is not only coaching a game of 40 minutes but fathering a game a life. Check out our great conversation!

    Welcome to Episode 2 of Prayers to Players: Marriage is a Team Sport! In all things you must be one mind and one accord with your mate and you must be in it together. You MUST keep YHWH and your family FIRST because they are the greatest people on your team! That is one of the greatest lessons I had to learn while pursuing my athletic career.

    In this episode my wife and I talked about the challenges we faced while I was chasing my dream and how that affected her and our family. I had to learn to listen and submit and recognize that my greatest level of success and my greatest riches were in the love of my family.
