Manu Gupta comes across as a normal person like you and me. Professional, confident and with soft demeanour. But behind that soft exterior lies a 'Rock Solid' will and a steel core developed with hard work and commitment built over the last two decades.  No wonder he is a marathon runner and not a sprinter.

When Manu first landed in Perth around 22 years back, he neither had backing of rich parents nor he had any misconception that road ahead is going to be a an easy one. What he had was a solid will to whatever it takes and deep sense of inquisitiveness of exploring his future far away from the comfort of his home zone.

Thus started the big career expedition. Initially trying to save money, Manu landed in a friends apartment, sharing the rent and splitting the bills was norm of the day. Little did he realise that his ingrained principles of hard-work and never say die attitude is going to take him to new heights. I spoke to him about his interesting journey of finding himself and a rewarding career and what we all can learn from his successful journey. Lets listen to him and get inspired.

He came, he saw and he continues conquering, meet Clinton Shroeder. Clinton is a Tech Entrepreneur and runs his own company; TOKN Technology with his business partner Kevin Venter. Clinton moved to Australia almost 2 decades back from South Africa. As you listen to the conversation, you will find out that he is a born entrepreneur, literally. He started working when he was 12 year old and since then he has always been ahead of the curve, always challenging the status quo, always thinking about solutions in a commercial sense and while doing all this, expanding his boundaries. 

Clinton is now settled in Perth and is currently growing his business which has seen a whopping 100% growth in past 12 month. Some of his biggest clients includes multi billion dollar organisations like BHP, Rio Tinto, Roy Hill and many more providing software solutions and apps to lower the operations cost, increasing efficiency, improving safety and offering a super user experience at the same time. When i met Sanjay for the first time in 2017, he came across as a serious looking gentleman. Now that i know him for past 4 years,  his pensive face reflects the expertise that he carries on his shoulders, he is a very serious Cyber Security professional. He is pretty jovial on occasions when we are enjoying our single malt sessions on Fridays in the haze of Sheesha. However, when it comes to using free WiFi from Hotel or at the Airport, he is pretty stiff about them. He calls them "Free Lunches" which are not good for health.

He is a financial maverick, he enjoys funding startups with strong business case, he is also deputy Managing Director at a renewable energy firm by the name of BPE Energy. He is invested into the firm and is a working director. He is Mazlee Junid, a young financial professional from Malaysia. He graduated in finance from London School of Economics beofre moving to Perth, Western Australia.

It was 2011 when Mazlee decided to come to Australian shores to try his luck with a finance job. He was not sure whether he would enjoy working here or not so he came alone, leaving behind his wife and 2 kids back home in Kuala Lumpur. Fast forward 2021, Mazlee and his family enjoys a soccer match at Apsley Green Oval where he works as a voluntary coach, Mazlee swears that his children are not going back to Malaysia. How has been last 10 years in Mazlee's life here in his new home in Perth. Mazlee attributes his success to his self belief and some important principles in his life. In this episode we discuss power of staying positive especially during tough times. Gurmeet came to Australia in 1995, with no friends and little support from the family back home. He decided to take bull by the horn and what helped him during this tough times were some new friends who became lifelong ones, his deep rooted faith in hard work and perseverance. 

This power of positivity took Gurmeet from doing odd jobs to buying his own company and then smartly selling it at the right time to make good profits. He went on to become sales man of the year and went on to explore his career in sales. Mishal was barely 17 years old, moving out from under the wings of his parents and landing up in Australia was a big step in his life.
