    Alain de Botton was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1969 and now lives in London. He's writer of essayistic books that have been described as a philosophy of everyday life. He's written on love, travel, architecture and literature. His books have been bestsellers in 30 countries. Alain also started and helps to run a school in London called the School of Life. Dedicated to a new vision of education. Alain's latest book published in September 2019 is a collection of essays written for the School of Life titled "The School of Life: An Emotional Education". Now, I've been a fan of Alan de Botton since 1997. He is brilliant, eloquent, sensitive, and captivating. He blows my mind and it is such a thrill to bring this conversation to you guys. He's the author of the new book, How to Change Your Mind, with the new science of psychedelics teaches us about consciousness, dying, addiction, depression, and transcendence, and five New York times bestsellers. His book, The Omnivore's Dilemma, was named one of the 10 best books of 2006 by both the New York Times and the Washington Post. It also won the California Book Award, the Northern California Book Award, the James Beard Award, and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Pollan is a professor of journalism at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism and he's also a professor of practice of non-fiction at Harvard University. Please welcome Michael Pollan.
