The discussion turns to the announcement of this year's HBCU Classic that will take place NBA All-Star Weekend in the Bay Area, that will pit Morehouse College against Tuskegee University. Kirk wishes the league's Finals didn't go against the NFL or the MLB League Championship Series. It was a great season and a great Finals. The discussion turns to the fans of the Cleveland Browns cheering when their QB, Deshaun Watson, was injured during the game, ending his season. No matter how you feel about Watson and what is going on with him off the field, it's never appropriate to cheer/boo the injury of an athlete. He then moved to Octagon and managed money for many well-known athletes including, Chris Paul, Steph Curry & Michael Phelps, among many others. Scout currently works with 12 athletic departments including UCLA, Iowa & Auburn. The athletes receive financial training sessions on campus year-round learning how to design a budget, set up recurring bank deposits, make investments, and put money aside for tax purposes. Scout also provides services to teach family members of the athletes as well.

Like Reggie Bush, former NCAA players are going to try & recoup some of the money they feel is owed to them. Bush & Pryor are the star names, but many college players are or will most likely file lawsuits. Kirk feels guys aren't suing for the money but because it is the right thing to do. The NCAA will have to address this. Discussion turns to the new lucrative deal signed by USC women's basketball star JuJu Watkins. The Nike deal gives her one of the richest shoe endorsement deals in women's basketball. The guys react to the news of Jets head coach Robert Saleh being fired after five games of the NFL season. The reporter could have asked his question differently and gotten an answer from Draymond that wouldn't have been so defensive. The subject of the question was a fair one to ask Dray. The show wraps with a discussion about a new book on the NBA Social Justice Coalition. The book is a series of essays from members of the NBA community. The coalition, formed in 2020, is composed of five active players, five team governors, Commissioner Silver, and Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum. The focus is on advocacy and public support for legislation to reform criminal justice, voting rights, policing, and community safety.
