She serves as the co-chair of the Keith Milano Memorial Fund at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, established in memory of her brother Keith, who died by suicide in 2004. Each May, Denise organizes a mental health awareness book fundraiser, where participating authors donate a portion of their sales to the fund. Since its inception, the fund has raised over $1.7 million and has made a significant impact by sharing Keith’s story and fostering meaningful conversations around mental health.
