    ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION:

We both came to Christ from New Age backgrounds, drawn in by a hunger for the mysterious and supernatural. At first, surrendering to Jesus felt like giving up the magic we once clung to. But over time, we’ve come to realize that life with Christ is the mystery—more profound, supernatural, and awe-inspiring than anything we left behind.

In this episode, we explore how mystery isn’t something we need to manufacture or seek through secret knowledge. It’s already been revealed in Christ. From Scripture to personal stories, we talk about what it means to be stewards of the mystery, how God continues to surprise and speak, and why embracing the mystery of Christ brings freedom, not confusion.

    - The mystery of God revealed in Christ (Colossians 2:2–3)
    - How our desire for the supernatural led us into New Age spirituality
    - The difference between hidden knowledge and revealed truth
    - Gnostic thought vs. Gospel reality
    - Our ongoing experiences of God’s mystery in daily life
    - What it means to be stewards of the mystery and servants of Christ (1 Corinthians 4:1)
    - The role of faith, fasting, intuition, and surrender in deepening relationship with Jesus
    - Learning to live with wonder instead of needing to understand everything

    ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION:

How does grief intersect with faith? We discuss the importance of inviting God into our grief, the role of the Holy Spirit in carrying our sorrows and interceding for us in our weakness, and the transformative power of grief as a pathway to redemption. Through our own personal journeys with grief, we share how prayer and the healing potential of creativity have helped when everything feels like it's falling apart. We also dive into the paradox of grief and joy, how loss can reveal the foundation of our faith and lead to deeper union with God. We also explore forbearance, one of the fruits of the Spirit and a quality that is often misunderstood. We reflect on its significance in relationships and how grief plays an important role in cultivating forbearance—a quality that reflects Christ’s endurance. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” —Psalms 34:18

    - How God meets us in grief through His Word
    - The role of the Holy Spirit in interceding for us in our grief

    ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION:

Following our 'Perfectionism' episode, this conversation dives deeper into beauty and vanity, and how our relationship with our appearance has evolved through our faith in Christ.

Vanity is a word that echoes through time, from the wisdom of Ecclesiastes to the self-obsession of modern culture. Both of us have wrestled with our own relationship to beauty, status, and self-image, shaped by a world that tells us our worth is in how we appear, what we achieve, and how others perceive us. But what happens when these pursuits leave us empty? What happens when the things we chase don’t satisfy? In this episode, we stand in the gap with God, exploring our own journeys with vanity—where we are not yet sanctified, where we’ve been set free, and where we are still learning to surrender. Vanity isn’t just about looks; it’s about anything we elevate above God, anything we chase for validation outside of Him. We share how our perspective has shifted since coming home to Christ, how we are learning to embrace God’s definition of beauty and worth, and the subtle ways vanity creeps into even our spiritual lives.

    - The biblical understanding of vanity—what does “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2) really mean?
    - How vanity manifests today, from social media to status-seeking to self-image
    - The difference between worldly beauty and godly value
    - The tension between caring for ourselves and obsessing over our appearance
    - How even faith and spirituality can become performance-based
    - Moving from self-glorification to glorifying God in all we do
    - Practical steps to shift from vanity to eternal value in Christ

    ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION:

Episode #11 ‘Perfectionism’ is OUT NOW!

Both of us struggled with perfectionism, but something profound began to shift after our homecoming to Christ. Over time, the pressure for our lives, relationships, and creative endeavors to fit a certain image began to fade. The desire to please others gradually took a back seat, replaced by a deeper longing to please God.

We’re sharing our journeys—from restlessness, control, and exhaustion to the peace we now experience through Christ’s transformation. Our walks have been marked by learning more about God’s character and developing a growing trust in the goodness and faithfulness of His plan for our lives.

In our conversation, we explore the subtle differences between striving in the world and striving in Christ—a different kind of striving that’s part of our spiritual maturation.

A significant part of our journey is understanding the divine callings God has placed on our hearts, and one thing has become clear to us:

If we don’t need God for the things that matter most to us, we’re likely not pursuing what He’s truly called us to do. And God undoubtedly equips those who respond to His calling.

    Here’s what we cover:

    • Understanding perfectionism: worldly vs. Christ's perspective
    • Exploring the spiritual and psychological aspects of perfectionism
    • The role of pride and self-perception in perfectionism
    • Our journeys from restlessness and control to peace through Christ’s transformative work
    • Liberation from perfectionism as a daily choice through Christ, not by our own efforts
    • Lessons from Martha & Mary: choosing presence over perfection
    • Embracing divine calling and maturation of our creativity in Christ
    • Overcoming fear in creativity: a fresh perspective
    • Practical steps for meaningful contribution

    ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION:

Both of us used to have a deep fascination and pull towards sacred union—the idea of a mystical, grand and extraordinary relationship. This conversation highlights how this fantasy got to be purified in the light of Christ, and that union rooted in God isn’t less of a mystical experience—it IS one of the mysteries of God. We’re sharing how our relational paths have been shaped by seasons of solitude and coming home to God before entering partnership as well as God’s sanctification process in union: dying to self-centeredness in order to experience the love of God with and through each other.

    - Union rooted in God vs. the fantasy of a grand mystical union
    - Our experiences in fully coming home to God in seasons of solitude before entering relationship
    - The different textures of union: from prioritizing eros, sex & passion to cultivating deep companionship first
    - How the fixation on finding a husband can distract from the true focus on God
    - God’s process of sanctification through union: dying daily to self-centeredness and being transformed through the love of Christ
    - Contemplating what it means to be unequally yoked and its challenges
    - When a man’s relationship to God looks different & important questions to ask ourselves
    - Marrying the mundane and the mystical as we mature in partnership

    ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION:

In this episode of *Gap With God*, we explore what it means to stand in the gap—interceding for others, holding faith when theirs falters, and recognizing that we cannot bridge these gaps on our own. Intercessory prayer is not about our own strength but about surrendering to Christ, the only One who truly stands between brokenness and redemption. This path of dependence is narrow and humbling, yet it is the only way that truly satisfies, drawing us into a deeper trust in the One who carries what we never could.

    - The meaning and inspiration for the name 'Gap with God'
    - Standing in the gap for others and praying on their behalf as a responsibility that comes with being a follower of Christ
    - Why we can’t bridge those gaps on our own and only with Christ
    - Intercessory prayer through the lens of eternity: a faith that is not own own, a power, a strength that is our our own
    - What it means to hold faith for someone else
    - Why the path of dependence on God is a narrow and humbling path, yet the path that satiates the heart unlike anything else

    ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION:

Our conversation starts with addressing the foundation to a life in obedience to God: knowing His character. We have to first know who God truly is before declare our dependance on Him, before we can say “God, your will and not mine.” We’re touching on the liberation and true peace that is found in living obediently, the contrast between temporary suffering and eternal glory, and the significance of everyday acts of obedience in our lives. While the fruits of obedience may not be immediately visible, they are eternal.

    - Understanding God's character as the foundation to living in obedience
    - Learning to live by the nudges of the Holy Spirit
    - Obedience as a journey of sanctification and maturity in our faith
    - Why God cares more about our character than our immediate desires
    - How every act of obedience, no matter how small, has significance in God's plan
    - Our need for community: through fellowship we get to see God's work more clearly
    - Why there is no neutral position in the Lord and Him calling us forward into action
