In our society, we have what’s known as the “Golden Rule”: treat others as you want to be treated. Although popular, many wouldn’t know this concept comes from the bible. What would happen if we chose to apply this Biblical principle not just to people we like, but to those we feel don’t deserve it. The things in our lives that we hold great respect for, and show high esteem are the things that we honour. Who are the people in our lives that we honour? The beliefs that we hold dear are the things that we believe to be true, but the faith that we hold dear gives us the courage to act on those beliefs. The love and affection that we offer to one another as people is far from perfect. It can be limited, withdrawn, and with many conditions.
