  • Episode 150: The Plan
    Feb 6 2025
What is the productivity industrial complex? .. and what does it have to do with health and wellness?? Kendra Adachi says that it has influenced our lives and can lead to burnout and anxiety. She has written yet another book on time management and makes a convincing argument that “yes” we do need one AND that women will benefit from her perspective. Eleanor and Kristen enjoyed a studied reflection on THE PLAN: Manage your time like a lazy genius (2024), highlighting some of Adachi’s suggestions. If you are a woman struggling with managing ALL the details of your life, this book might be for you. Listen to our discussion to see if you want to flip the pages of this book! • Episode 149: Rest
    Jan 23 2025
How does a Health Geek get confused and read the wrong book? Maybe they didn’t get enough REST? Kristen read a book called REST: 7 Types of Rest to Eliminate Burnout, Reduce Stress, and Overcome Anxiety by Allison Hay (2023). This was the book we selected to read together, but Eleanor picked up a book called REST: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less (2018) by Alex Soojung-Kim Pang. We discovered this discrepancy when we got to the podcast studio, and it turned out to be a wonderful mistake. We had fun comparing notes from these two authors’ perspectives. Both books are worth a read! Listen in and let us know if REST is a part of your routine. We would appreciate it if you would subscribe/follow the podcast to hear more about this book! • Episode 148: Good Energy
    Dec 11 2024
This episode is brought to you by Sal Valencia III, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. Do you want to read a book that provokes you? GOOD ENERGY: The Surprising Connection between Metabolism and Limitless Health by Casey Means, MD with Cally Means provoked a high-energy conversation between Kristen and Eleanor. Do you think you should trust your doctor? Do you want to wear bio-tracker gadgets on your body? Would you know how to interpret the data? Casey Means certainly challenged us, and we came up with different reactions to her book. Eleanor even tried some recipes suggested for Dr. Means' Good Energy Plan. We really did our best to tell you what we thought of GOOD ENERGY, but there is definitely more to be said! We would appreciate it if you would subscribe/follow the podcast to hear more about this book! And you can purchase it via an affiliate link by clicking the title above or on the "Bookstore" tab.
