The bout saw Padley, who accepted the fight on just four days' notice following Floyd Schofield's withdrawal due to illness, suffer three knockdowns in the ninth round, all from body shots, prompting his corner to halt the contest.From the outset, the 27-year-old Stevenson showcased his superiority in size, speed, and power over the 29-year-old Padley. Despite Padley's courageous effort, including working a full shift as an electrician before accepting the fight, he struggled to match Stevenson's prowess. The third round marked a turning point when Stevenson landed a right hook to the body followed by a straight left to the head, visibly staggering Padley.
