  • 55. Grief as Leaders
    Feb 24 2025

Every human will encounter the sudden heartache of grief brought on by loss or suffering. Ministry leaders are not immune to grief, but rather, we often have a front row seat to those who are walking through tragedy and deep loss. How do we grieve well? Not just for ourselves but those that we are ministering to. How do we continue to lead well even when the waves of grief keep coming?

Aunt P joins us today as we navigate these questions and more on grieving as leaders.

To connect with us, email girls.ministry@lifeway.com with any questions or concerns.

  • 54. Celebration Over Comparison
    Feb 17 2025

"Our ministry isn't as big as theirs." "My students trust her more than me." "Why can't I get it right like her?"

Comparison can steal so much joy from our calling. And yet there is abundant joy when we can find ways to celebrate the work the Lord is doing in our brothers and sisters and ministries and local churches. Let's be women who cheer on and champion those around us!

  • 52. Habits in the New Year
    Jan 6 2025

Instead of asking what goals you have for the New Year, we want to ask the question "What holy habits are you setting for this year?" Instead of seeking to accomplish something, we want you to seek and know the presence of God this year. Whether that is studying your Bible more, memorizing Scripture, or another way to deepen your faith, let's begin today to create habits that lead our hearts to loving and experiencing God more.

This conversation with authors of our new Lifeway Girls study, Dwell on These Things, is one of our favorites of all time. Natalie Abbott and Vera Schmitz are two sisters who founded Dwell Differently, and they are passionate about your and your teen girl(s) love for God's Word.

  • 51. Fighting the Urge to Fix Yourself
    Jan 1 2025

New year, new you? That's not our goal this year!

It's so easy to go into the new year trying to find ways to "fix" things about our bodies, yet what if self-improvement isn't the goal? Rather, faithful obedience and stewardship over what God has given us.

Let's spend this year giving thanks to God for the bodies given to us!

If you haven't listened to our episode with Caroline Saunders from January 2024, make sure to scroll back and find it, "Good News for Your Bodies."

Give us a follow @lifewaygirls to keep up with all that's happening!

    Dec 16 2024

Christmas is next week, but HOW did we get here this fast?! As we all begin to slow down and look forward to the new year, this is such an important time to look back at what God has done and what He has taught you, changed in you, and brought you through.

This episode allows us to share with you the lessons we learned in 2024! So let's reflect on God's kindness and faithfulness together and remember that this is the same God heading into the New Year with us.

  • 48. The Gap Between Girls Ministry & Women's Ministry with Anne Harrison
    Dec 9 2024

You might notice how many of your girls who were once connected in youth ministry fall off the map after high school. They aren't connected into the local church, and they likely are not connected into women's ministry or discipleship. So what's the disconnect? Where did we go wrong? Or is the expectations on young women to "fit" the current dynamic of women's ministry off?

This is a must needed conversation in the local church, and we hope this will encourage you to take those first steps in shortening the gap between girls and women's ministry.

Anne Harrison is passionate about connecting women with the God Who loves their souls, with Scripture, and with other women who will encourage them to grow and flourish. She and her husband, Jim, have three sons and a beautiful daughter-in-law! Anne is a graduate of Texas A&M University, holds a Master in Ministry to Women from SEBTS and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary. She loves the local church and served as the Director of Women’s Ministries at First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, Texas for over a decade. She currently serves on the Lifeway Women’s Event Team, simulcast team, and as a Lifeway trainer. Some of her favorite things include taking long naps on rainy days, short naps on sunny days, and enjoying a cold-brew coffee every day.
