The Forbidden Forest, also known as Dark Forest borders the edges of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry grounds. It is a very old place that holds many secrets and is home to many creatures, some dark and dangerous, some friendly. As the forest's name suggests, it is strictly off limits to students — except in the case of detention, or Care of Magical Creatures lessons that occasionally take place here with Hagrid's supervision. Harry, Ron and Hermione were forced to enter this dangerous forest on more occasions than they'd like, and each time it was a thrilling adventure. Someone or something is lurking behind the trees, why are the Dementors prowling? Maybe the centaurs can help, but they choose to keep quiet and watch... You don't even need to summon thestrals.
