Cultivating self-honesty serves as a crucial gateway to self-awareness, self-accountability, and self-responsibility. It forms the foundation of the HALT pyramid, and in my experience, is why I believe accessing prolonged states of Acceptance, Loyalty and Trust both inside and outside of Self, are near impossible in its absence.
