  • In this episode, we interview Dr. Ishtiaque Ahmed and discuss sustainable and ethical computing in the age of AI, especially for and with marginalized communities locally and globally.

    Dr. Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ahmed’s research focuses on studying, analyzing, and designing computing technologies with marginalized populations around the world through a sustainability and social justice lens. His work spans political philosophy, critical theory, social science, anthropology, and STS literature and informs mobile and ubiquitous computing, natural language processing, social media, and machine learning.
