  • Hour 2: Stand For His Truth
    Sep 6 2024

On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we took a hard look at what it means to be satisfied at work. Our guest challenged us and guided us with a step-by-step process designed to help us examine our jobs and determine there is something more satisfying out there, and if so, how to pursue it. Many have lost their lives standing up to and fighting against a broken system of belief that has now become casually acceptable to so many without the full understanding of the dangers inherent in it: Communism. We took a deep dive into what Communism is and isn’t, its history and while some today tout is a better system, a more fair system over Democracy, our guest explained the real history of destruction, repression and devastated lives that this philosophy has and continues to leave into its wake. Jesus was fully God and fully man and in order to accomplish that which the Father set before Him he had to take care of Himself, physically, mentally and spiritually. He practiced what our guest calls “soul care”. Our guest, a respected counselor on relational and mental well-being issues, shared some powerful snap shots from the life of Jesus to highlight the rhythms of His life and demonstrate how He took time to be alone, set boundaries with others and protected His calling and how we can do the same and in the process find rest and refreshment to do what God has called us to do. Our favorite Hollywood missionary was back with more stories of God at work in the entertainment industry and more spiritual needs to add to our prayer lists. When we examine the issue of religious persecution, we rarely address the impact gender has on this violation, especially in regards to Christian women who are often displaced and victimized in ways their male counterparts may not experience. We heard from a man on the front lines of ministry to the persecuted who helped us understand what it means to be marginalized for your faith and especially the life-altering impact it has on women and even their children. As we close the door on another week and get ready to breathe a sigh of relief, our need to remain aware and diligent does not disappear. So once again our favorite husband and wife team invite us to put our thinking caps on so that can continue learning how to use Godly discernment to understand the events happening all around us in our increasingly contrary nation and world and how to address them while grounded in God’s truth.

  • Hour 1: Fight For Your Faith
    Sep 6 2024

How do you live out your faith in an increasingly hostile work environment? On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week our guest took advantage of Labor Day 2024 with a discussion of practical strategies for sharing your faith with those you work with and how to better understand what it means to serve Jesus even in the most challenging work environments. Considering the vast amount of hours in our lives that we spend on our jobs, it almost seems like a given that what we do for a living should give us more than just a paycheck to survive on. But so many of us have never been told how to discover our God given purpose and to pursue work that highlights that purpose. We shared the insights of a respected career coach who explained why it is important to discover God’s unique purpose for your life and the find the work that each of us, individually was meant to do. There are no end to questions that come up from our time in God’s word and our daily faith challenges and struggles. That’s why we once again invited a respected Bible teacher to answer your most challenging questions and get you the answers you seek grounded in the truth and bedrock solid theology. As the old song says, “The times they are a changing!” A greatly respected preacher and teacher of the Word joined us for a timely conversation addressing the secular thinking that has overtaken our national mindset. He explained its roots, why it has lead people to redefine God into a being that is more palatable to their life and choices instead of who He really is. Our teacher explained the importance of living out biblical truth in the increasing resistant and hostile world that we find ourselves in today. Class in back in session and you are invited to take your seat as our favorite husband and wife team once again teach us how to filter the news and events happening around us through the clean, clear light of scripture.
