    Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors legislation also known as The DREAM Act is currently pending. The bill would create a path to legal immigration status for undocumented immigrants born outside the United States who were brought here illegally as children. In many cases these individuals are unaware of their undocumented status until they graduate from high school and attempt to apply for college. Though the United States is the only home they have ever known, they live in fear of deportation. While some call the DREAM Act a matter of fairness and tout the measures potential economic benefits our state, others it would create a burdensome costs on Arizona’s budget.
