    EPISODE 500 - Dominick Domasky - A.I. and Authors, Publishing A Book in 2025, Celebrating A Milestone

    AI's Role in Content Creation
David and Dominick discussed the role of AI in content creation, particularly in writing and podcasting. They expressed concerns about the reliance on AI tools, which they believe can lead to the production of "beige" content that lacks personal stories and deep connections. They emphasized the importance of human creativity and the value of personal experiences in writing. They also discussed the potential pitfalls of using AI to generate content, such as the lack of authenticity and the inability to capture the essence of a personal story. They concluded that while AI can be a useful tool, it should not replace the creative mind of an author.

    Consistency, Authenticity, and Networking Success
Dominick emphasized the importance of consistency and authenticity in achieving success, using the example of a friend who appeared on Oprah. He stressed that success requires putting in the same effort that led to success elsewhere and being consistent in sharing one's message. He also highlighted the importance of networking and reaching out to the right audience, using the example of a fantasy book author who found more success at a comic-con than at a book event. David agreed with these points, noting that the author's ability to connect with people at the comic-con was key to their success.

    Persistence and Continuous Improvement
Dominick and David discussed the importance of persistence and continuous improvement in their respective endeavors. Dominick shared his experiences with various events and how he learned from them, emphasizing the value of networking and adapting to different situations. David then shared a quote from Theodore Roosevelt, "Do what you can with what you have where you are," and how it relates to authors. They both agreed on the importance of sharing one's journey, both the successes and struggles, to inspire and connect with others. David expressed his appreciation for Dominick's willingness to share his experiences and journey, which he believes helps others feel more comfortable in their own struggles.

    Support, Motivation, and Podcast Growth
In the meeting, David and Dominick discussed the importance of reaching out to others for support and motivation. David expressed his gratitude towards Dominick for his consistent support and guidance. They also discussed the upcoming 500th episode of their podcast and the need for more authors to be featured. David encouraged Dominick to send him new authors who have never been on a podcast for a great first experience. They also touched on the topic of sharing content and the benefits of evergreen content. The conversation ended with both parties wishing each other a happy holiday season.

    About Richie Billing
    The formal spiel…

Richie Billing writes all kinds of stories, but mostly fantasy fiction. His tales often explore real-world issues, zooming in on the characters and their troubles. Richie worked as a lawyer for a number of years before giving it all up to pursue writing.

His short fiction has been widely published, with one story adapted for BBC radio. And in March 2021 his debut novel,

Pariah’s Lament, was published by indie press Of Metal and Magic Publishing. Richie also hosts the podcast The Fantasy Writers’ Toolshed, a venture inspired by the requests of readers of his acclaimed craft book, A Fantasy Writers’ Handbook.

When not writing, Richie works as an editor and digital marketer and teaches creative writing both online and in his home city of Liverpool. You can also find his writing in more formal publications like the Solicitors Journal. Most nights you can find him up into the early hours scribbling away or watching the NBA.
