As we move towards middle and third age, evidence suggests that we should be developing our functional strength. This is where we exercise several muscles and joints together, rather than working individual ones. This is to counteract the normal muscle loss we experience as we get older, so that we’re able to continue our daily activities as normally as possible.
They also say that our minds and bodies are best keep in shape and improved through developing new skills.
On this show, I’m joined by mum of four and medical scheduler, Rebecca McIntosh. She is here to share how she was in her 50s when she started a new hobby that not only builds functional strength, but also integrates mind, body and balance.
Rebecca shares her story and how her new passion has brought many unexpected benefits to her life besides improving her physical and mental wellbeing.
Enjoy!
