    The number of jobs in Canada are incomparable to the pre-COVID job requirements, and employers find it challenging to choose employees who fit incorrectly in multiple sectors.

    Canadian Statistics reports highlights…

    According to the Canadian Statistics reports, “The Canadian employers were looking to hire employees for 915,500 job openings from the fourth quarter all over the 20 sectors in 2021. This number of job vacancies is 80 percent more compared to 2019 and 63.4 percent compared to 2020.”

    From the job vacancies report of the fourth quarter for 2021, the national government’s statistical and demographics services agency recorded high-job openings that were accorded with a complete recovery of remunerated employment and dropping unemployment.

    Nova Scotia and Manitoba provinces experience an increase in job vacancies

    In the year 2021, excluding Nova Scotia and Manitoba, Canada’s job requirements were meager and haven’t undergone much change from October through December compared to the third quarter.

    The job requirement of 11.9 percent, which is 20,300, was faced by the Atlantic Canadian province of Nova Scotia, and the job vacancies were increased by 5.9 percent is 25,800 openings in the Prairie province of Manitoba.

    Amongst all the provinces, the immense increase in job openings was seen by Prince Edward Island, where the job positions spiked up to 87.1 percent each year, Quebec, which experienced 87.9 percent, Alberta with 89 percent, and Saskatchewan with a doubled increase in job openings that rose up to 90.1 percent.

  • Skilled Indians have a 90 year wait for green cards, the Jumpstart Bill seeks to resolve this.

    Abstract: The US attempts to clear backlogs for the ‘green card’ visa for immigrant residents, especially Indians. Currently, the green card eligible Indian Immigrants in the US are waiting for an available VISA number can apply for it by paying a fee.

    Highlights about the Jumpstart Bill:

    • The waiting period for a ‘green card’ visa for citizenship of immigrants in the US is 90 years.

    • By the time the visa is granted, the applicants will most likely cross the eligibility age.

    Every Year the US accommodated 1.40 lakh green cards for employment-based immigrants with a 7% per-country cap. This ratio is eight times higher than China, which is second in rank with such applicants. This Year, Indian Immigrants could not file their applications for an employment-based green card due to the backlog.

  • Quebec to offer open work permits to immigration candidates with Quebec selection certificates

    While waiting for the decision about the permanent residency from Ottawa, the skilled foreign workers with Quebec Selection Certificates Quebec are free to work with the given work permits provided in the next few weeks.

    In the extended International Mobility Program category, dubbed IMP+, in Quebec, 7,000 skilled employees receive work permits from the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) yearly. They will be allowed to work during the final process of their permanent residency.

    All the labor shortages will be addressed by immigration to Quebec.

    Quebec is looking up to IMP+ to help meet the growing competition of the severe job shortages in multiple sectors and build the province’s economy.

    Quebec is about to begin releasing multiple employees from performing the Labour Market Impact Assessments to provide jobs to temporary employees in the quick foreign worker program category.

    The must-do things by the employers in Quebec are to pick up a tab on the flight tickets, coverage of health insurance, and provide accommodation for all the workers that they recruit in the category of simplified. This new procedure is yet to be started on May 24th.
