Maybe You Never Learned to Dream

  • Résumé

  • Today’s episode is all about dreaming big, and why it can be so challenging for some people to imagine a different way of living or working.

For many of the women I coach, dreaming outside the framework they’ve followed for years can feel foreign. If you’ve spent most of your life checking boxes and following a well-laid-out path, the question, “What do I really want?” might not come naturally.

But this doesn't mean that you lack creativity and are unable to dream. I truly think that dreaming big is a skill, and like any skill, you can strengthen it with practice!

Questions to help you practice dreaming bigger

    • Who inspires me, and what about their life or choices resonates with me?
    • What would it look like to live a life that’s 1% bigger?
    • What is one thing I’ve always been curious about but never pursued?
    • If I could spend a day doing anything I wanted, no matter how impractical, what would it be?
    • What’s a place I’ve always wanted to visit or live, and what about it excites me?
    • What is one small, joyful thing I could do this week that would feel adventurous or new?
    • When was the last time I felt truly alive and excited? What was I doing?
    • What’s something I’ve told myself I can’t do but secretly want to try?
    • What values do I want to align my life with more closely?
    • What’s something I’d regret not trying if I reached the end of my life?

Ready to dream bigger, but want some help?
