  • Jesus in Matthew chapter 9 is out and about, He is healing, He is calling His disciples, He is showing the people God.

    Yet the Scribes and Pharisees scoff and accuse.

    Jesus pointedly tells them God would rather have mercy and not sacrifice for His people in Hosea and it still holds true here.

    God cares for His people but the "self righteous" would prefer the people stick to the Law that they (the Pharisees) rule by.
