  • Résumé

  • Welcome to the Moms In Motion podcast! Your hosts are Krista Williams (pregnancy & postpartum athleticism coach) and Jenn Perna (pelvic floor physical therapist). We are running our businesses, running our households, and trying not to run ourselves into the ground while juggling it all. We are here to support you through all stages of motherhood with honest, relatable, and sometimes unfiltered conversations.

Tune into this show weekly so we can help you build your village, reconnect with your mom bod, and possibly even navigate business ownership and motherhood, better.

We are located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and refer to each other constantly to best support moms in the area. We believe the relationship between a personal trainer specializing in working with moms, and pelvic floor PT is an absolute must for moms to thrive in motherhood. Please remember that this show is not meant to treat or diagnose any medical condition, so don't ever hesitate to contact your own provider team with any concerns.

Thanks for joining us, and please reach out with feedback or questions!

  • #68: Strength Training Basics - How to Actually Get the Results You are Looking For
    Feb 24 2025

Lots of moms know that strength training is an important component of fitness for women, but do you actually know how to best get the results you are looking for?

‘Long and lean’ by picking up light weights is a marketing technique - the only way to actually get stronger is to lift heavy and progressively overload your body. Yoga, barre, running - all of these workouts are endurance based, and that’s great, but they won’t get you stronger.

This episode is for you if you’ve been ‘strength training using weights’ but aren’t quite seeing the progress you expected!

We will have 3 different types of episodes and one will drop each week on Mondays!

    1. Movement and education
    2. Mom life struggles and experiences
    3. Business ownership

Take us for a walk, listen while you tackle some chores, or let us join you as you hustle your crew around town! Be sure to follow this podcast, share it with some mom friends, and let us know what you want to hear us chat about by connecting with us!

  • #66: You're Probably Doing it Wrong - Sucking In Your Belly is Not Engaging Your Core
    Feb 10 2025

This is one topic that is so very basic to us as movement professionals, but needs to be discussed in detail because every single client and every single patient needs to be taught the difference in order to get the results they are looking for.

You may have grown up (think high school, college) sucking in your belly in order to flatten it out. This habit is super hard to break - but also becomes the number one most important thing to get right - when it comes to regular exercise, pregnancy and postpartum, and rebuilding your core strength as a mom. It's no wonder so many women struggle with the look and feel of their midsections!

In this episode we break down the difference, teach you the one thing that has been skipped over in every group fitness class you have taken, and finally help you see what has been missing from your fitness routine and everyday function for so long.
