  • On November 28, 1969, in the stacks of Penn State’s Pattee Library, 22-year-old Betsy Aardsma was attacked and left to die, her killer vanishing without a trace. The attack occured in a very quiet and public space, yet no one heard a scream. What seemed like an ordinary day after Thanksgiving became the start of a haunting mystery that remains unsolved more than five decades later. Who killed Betsy—and why—are questions that still linger in the eerie silence of the library’s halls.
