We spent release day with Jess Moskaluke as she celebrated her first single in over a year. Jess recently released her single “Life For Me”; a creative departure that remains true to her evolved sound.

She mentioned how “Life For Me” is if her 2020 single “Map Dot” had a cool older sister. We also talked about how “Map Dot” connected with so many people across Canada - whether they were from small map dot towns, or had some small town that was special for them.

We talked about Jess’ “eras”, and what that means for her. She’s been releasing music for a long time, and for her, it’s about her own evolution, the things she’s experienced, and being true to herself - no matter the era.

For her - that’s pretty important too. She’s received criticism over the years for not being country enough and being too Nashville.

We also touched on her venture into the business side and management. After over a decade in the business, she’s got a lot of experience under her belt and has decided to share that with some emerging artists she’s working with.

Parker Graye first joined us “On the Porch” for Season 1 Episode 4, in 2022.

Since then, Parker has solidified herself as an emerging talent in Canadian country music. She’s played Boots and Hearts, earned a Top 40 with her single “Good at Gettin’ Gone”, and participated as a semi-finalist in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country competition.

In March 2024, Parker released her debut EP, Lyin’ to Me, which earned her top slots on DSP playlist and her first billboard at Yonge and Dundas Square with Amazon Music. At the 2024 CCMAs, Parker was a featured artist on the CCMA Songwriters Unplugged sessions.

We recapped these big milestones with Parker in our latest conversation. We also talked about her transition to Nashville, building her circle, and evolving as a songwriter.

Parker has some big goals for the next year - but one thing is certain, she’s ‘leaving room for the magic’.

Parker’s current single “Halfway” has surpassed over 1.1 million streams in just four months across streaming platforms.

Tim and the Glory Boys have had quite a busy year - especially the last few weeks, as they’ve been on the West Coast leg of their “Canoegrass” tour

Tim Neufeld, band founder and lead singer, joined us for our season three finale (another season finale….crazy), and we had such a great time sitting down with him.

Tim and The Glory Boys have won multiple Juno Awards and CCMA Awards, including for their debut self-titled album.

Tim talked about his own path over the years, having musicians as parents, and his other band “Starfield”, which he started with his brother.

Also - Tim and the Glory Boys were once called “Tim Neufeld and the Hallelujah Glory Boys”! It was just a little bit long if they wanted to be on the radio.

Tim and the Glory Boys have a new single coming….very soon! They’re also bringing the Canoegrass tour to the East side of Canada in 2025!

Lydia Sutherland has had a whirlwind year - or a few, to say the least.

This year, she released her EP pretty girls don’t cry, has written with some her favourite songwriters - and got dropped from her first major record deal.

Lydia reached out prior to the release of her latest single “Nashville, Nashville” to talk about her year.

In the best place she’s ever been mentally, with a healthy routine, writing the best songs she’s written, losing her record deal turned out to be something she needed.

We talked about the lessons she’s learned through this journey, the investment in her mental health, and what she has in store as she continues to make her way as a songwriter.

Sarah Vanderzon grew up south of Montreal, Quebec. Blending her influences and style, Sarah’s sound infuses folk, pop, and country music.

Being very shy growing up, stepping out of her shell has been a process. We talked about Sarah’s journey to the spotlight at center stage - even if she still hides behind her instruments.

In 2023, Sarah was a finalist on Quebec’s spin off of The Voice, “La deuxième voix” and was coached by Quebec icon Roxane Bruneau. She used this experience to grow her fanbase, increasing her presence on social media and releasing her EP “Same Sad Eyes”.

This year, Sarah took to the stage at Boots and Hearts Music Festival for the Emerging Artist Showcase. Not only did she make it to Sunday and perform on the main stage before Nate Smith, but she took home the title for the year.

We chatted more with Sarah about growing up, leaning into her creative side, “La deuxième voix”, Boots and Hearts, her adorable corgi, and more!
