On the fourth episode of the Melbourne Rebels podcast Oscar and Gordon chat to Rebels’ flanker Richard Hardwick about his family’s decision to leave Namibia and settle in Australia, how he organised a rugby team at his high school in Perth, winning the Phil Waugh Medal with the Perth Spirit, his Wallaby debut, joining the Rebels and the influence of his dietician partner Mikaela Welti who has just won an Australian boxing title.
Oscar and Gordon also address the vexing problem of persistent scrum collapses and come up with a solution. Gordon’s history segment recalls the era when Melbourne’s rugby league players decided to swap codes to get a crack at the touring All Blacks.
The boys also get a report card from Geoff Parling on the latest performance against the Reds and they chat to brilliant Rebel and Wallaroo scrum half Georgia Cormick.
