  • This sequel to the presentation on Ptolemaic Alexandria covers over four centuries of history. Neoplatonism, Christianity, Judaism, the cult of Serapis, and revivals of ancient Egyptian Mystery Schools abounded in this classic city. Philo, Ammonius Saccas, Plotinus, Clement of Alexandria, Origen, and scores of other exotic spirits populate the cityscape.

    This is a special presentation in a series of fourteen about Alexandria and Rome. This presentation was delivered by Roger Weir on March 12, 1983.
