  • Green Day did in 1994 what most punk bands only wish they could have done (the wishes they kept in their hearts for fear of being called a wanna be sell out), they hit the mainstream with a veracity like no other punk band before them. From music videos on MTV to mud slinging fights at Woodstock '94, this band may have been at the right place at the right time, but the conversations they helped bring to the mainstream may have been their biggest contribution.
