Tanzy, currently horse-less, meets back up with the Emu Crew at the stables as they return from a liberating day at the nearby stud farm. An unexpected guest in Veera also appears, distressed, looking for help from the gang. Deeper and deeper the war's efforts and influence reaches its wretched fingers as Veera so painfully reveals.

All across the Eastern Continent, HEROES are born every day. 

While most people exhibit mundane characteristics, a small segment of the population show the talent for learning skills and abilities that seem impossible. While these hero-touched children sometimes manifest gifts young, it’s only through THE EXAM, a mandatory exam for all youth across the Continent to test their ability to manifest these talents. Upon receiving their results, students are instructed to choose one of a half-dozen highly revered Academies devoted to their further education.
