S2E5 - the Adam and Estee episode

  • Résumé

  • “I think that we can use the ways of neurodiversity to resist games of cure, and change the pace of education such as time, because we experience time differently about the space. And movement is key for thinking about always sitting in classrooms.”

This week, Kristina and Kayla are joined by Adam Wolfond and Estée Klar, a mother and son artist duo and the founders of dis assembly, a collective for neurodiverse, relational-artistic creation and collaboration. We discuss the ways traditional education systems create barriers for neurodiverse modes of being, collaborative art practices, with a guest appearance by Crip Times’ official mascot, Suzie, we discuss the ecologies of our environments.

Adam uses text-to-speech to communicate. His responses are typed at a slower pace, one word at a time, and then articulated as a complete sentence at the end of a thought. We hope you welcome this as an opportunity to crip (like, as a verb) what podcasts are typically understood to sound like in an ableist audio world.
