We hope you'll tune in this weekend, as we are coming straight at you from a slow-down-you-might-miss-it spot in Upper Peninsula, charming Germfask.
We've been known to stop any time of day at Tovey's Jolly Inn because you can get a burger for breakfast, or lunch, or dinner. We'll talk with Damian Tovey about his historic bar located right on HWY 77, his claim to making the best cheesesteak in the state, and a possible supernatural guest that visits the Jolly on the regular.
Can you believe that you can go wine tasting in the Yoop? True story! We visit with the owners of End of the Road Winery, Robin and Jim. We love it when people find a whole new calling in life, which is exactly what is going on here. We had the best time at this super cute place, that really is at the very end of the road, so remember to KEEP GOING.
AND......we get to meet this charming fellow at Northland Outfitters Campground & Canoe / Kayak Livery ......the amazing Bennie the Beardfisher. Commissioned by new owners Levi and Duree, who have their own amazing story to share, Bennie was created by international artist Thomas Dambo, and has turned into quite the destination. Pro tip: you can camp here, stay in one of their cute cottages, kayak down the Manistique River from here, and check out the adorable tchotchkes at the gift shop. It is well worth a visit!
Home to 490 people, named after its four original founders, don't miss out. It's Germfask baby, and it's fantastic.
