    This episode is part 2 of a 2-part series with the AP English Language students in the Academy of Literature, Media, and Arts (ALMA) at Hoover High School. Students read the memoir Crazy Brave by Joy Harjo and made connections between beautifully written and vivid stories recalled in the memoir to the wide topic of social norms including gender norms, toxic masculinity, body positivity, intergenerational trauma, and violence prevention. These students also include great calls to action for both young people and adults to work toward Healthy Relationships in our fight to prevent violence.

  • Family Dynamics and Consent featuring Hoover ALMA students Part 1

Students made connections between Harjo's beautifully written stories to their own personal experiences with family dynamics, consent and boundaries, and healing.
