  • Season 1 | Episode 5 | Patchwerks
    Jun 1 2023

On April 5th, 2023 Patchwerks closed for another successful day as Seattle's biggest retail, education, and community hub for everything synthesizers, modular, samplers, drum machines, and much more. I met up with Cindy Reichel and Tom Butcher after their staff meeting to sit down in the store after hours for one of the best interviews and discussions yet. Walking the show floor in almost complete silence and with no customers was like being in Wonka's Chocolate Factory for a personal tour. Both beautiful and eerie since most are used to the sounds of curiosity echoing through every corner of the building during operating hours.

Join me, Tom, and Cindy as we revisit Patchwerk's history, their own personal paths as musicians, and their impact on the electronic music community reaching around the world. Also, stick around till the end for a special gear walkthrough and performance by Tom and Cindy's collaborative project called Dahliia which only performs live and hasn't performed in many years especially due to the challenges with the 2019 Pandemic. Hey Tom, technically Episode 5 is the very first Dahliia recording!

  • Season 1 | Episode 4 | davis
    May 29 2023

On April 1st, 2023, the mighty winds of the Inland Northwest were picking up in Deer Park Washington thrashing the rural fields around like a natural dance from nature. On this beautifully stormy Saturday, I sat down with the singer-songwriter davis in his home to talk about his 60+ years of hearing, writing, and playing music throughout his life. From his first years of curiosity of the sounds around him to his present trials and tribulations as my father, a brother, a grandfather, and what lies next in his path of creativity. Join me on a ride through what began as an interview and naturally became somewhat of an amateur documentary with an unfiltered discussion of what it means to go all in to what you love. Be sure to also hang out till the end for a featured artist performance by davis joined by Mark Flanigan on keys.
