  • In this episode we learn about the new brands coming to the forefront of the single malt category who are very much still there today, about the Queen visit to Bowmore and may have got her first liking to whisky, about why Glen Garioch became extremely popular amongst farmers in the UK, and how the Chairman bought Auchentoshan distillery at a party. We then hear about the stagnation of the industry in the mid 80s and the eventual sale of the business to Japanese firm Suntory, who are still in charge today.
