Most of us would call ourselves lucky if we could fall asleep easily, sleep soundly through the night, experience and remember our dreams, and wake up feeling refreshed. But for one in three adults in the US (about eighty-four million people), experiencing uninterrupted sleep and getting a great night’s rest is only just a dream. The reality is sleep makes up one-third of our life (a good twenty-five to thirty years), and it impacts everything we do.1 I know firsthand the impact of poor sleep and how it can cause mental stress and break down the body.
