    This episode serves as a goal check-in point. In January, we set some pretty big goals, or, rather, we picked a singular word that describes how we aim to tackle the year.

    Our positive words ended up feeling a double-edge sword. Sometimes you can brute-force your goals into fruition, and other times you need to pivot so the "real" success can emerge. We both had some pretty kick-butt events happen throughout the year, which felt like a major goal derailment. But as we discuss our goals that went to the wayside, we discovered much deeper—and more positive—truths about achievement and still coming out a winner in the end.
