  • I Miss You Uncle Donald
    Oct 26 2025

Welcome to the final episode of Season 1. Episode 100!

I dedicate this episode to my Uncle Donald. He is the voice you hear when I open the podcast and his voice intermingles with my mothers when I close out. In this episode I share a poem, a letter, and the full audio of the last time we were altogether that I chopped up for the podcast. It is a moment to capture my love as I continue to move on in this world without him. Enjoy!

*Ian Lin's episodes were the VERY first I recorded on my podcast journey. Please excuse the rough audio*

Ian and I met our freshman year in college. He a science major and I an anthropology major we never crossed paths in a classroom. It was laughing on the quad. It was jamming on the dance floor. It was always asking the question, are you free for dinner? Even though we do not live on the same continent anymore we make it job to see each other when we are. We saw each other in Taiwan when I lived in China. I went to Carnival in London and crashed at his house. We met up in Chicago when his sister got married. This is my friend. He shares stories of his time teaching in Taiwan and talks about how he sees all of this identities. Enjoy!

    His Bio:

African, Asian, Swazinese. Environmentalist, Nerd, Human. Avid pursuer of the world's whimsy and believer in the more interesting questions than the answers. 'Some days I believe in it all, our ability to find harmony. The others I feel like a petrel chasing a hurricane. And thats ok too'

I met Kelly over 3 years ago two days before I left to complete my Fulbright in South Africa. My high school guidance counselor Mrs. Gayman introduced us as Kelly was looking to interview people for her series unpacking the importance and significance of a liberal arts education. I said I was down and that led to me being on my very first podcast episode ever. That beautiful conversation led into into another conversation a year later where I was invited back to be on her PBS Special in New York City, which was another first.

When I started my podcast I created a running list of people I would love to talk to and Kelly was on that list. I sent her an email not expecting a response. Not everyday I come across best selling authors with PBS Specials. She said yes and it turned out to be a three part conversation about the intricacies of identities through the lens of childhood, college, and travel. Enjoy as Kelly sits in THE CHAIR.

    Her Bio:

Kelly Corrigan has written 4 New York Times bestselling memoirs and is the host of the top 1% podcast Kelly Corrigan Wonders, with close to 17 million downloads to date, and Tell Me More on PBS, now in its 7th season. Her much-lauded TED talk lays bare the extraordinary bravery occasionally required in family life.

  • A Recovering Perfectionist
    Sep 28 2025

Emily and I met at Babson as I was pursuing my MBA. She connected me to resources and we began to develop a friendship. During our three part conversation we engage in talks of how she started her new venture as CEO of The Connectors, business advice and concerns, and her relationship to whiteness and various parts of her identities.

    Her Bio:

    Emily Weiner

Emily Weiner is a systems thinking entrepreneur, business advisor, and mentor who has spent more than 25 years connecting people and ideas to activate change. She models how to bring intentionality to relationships and partnerships, and leaders rely on her ability to connect the dots, especially between people, to help them activate new and expanded opportunities, innovation, and impact. She founded The Connectors to help people of all ages develop effective strategies to form relationships, uncover resources, and shift mindsets to move ideas forward.

Prior to founding The Connectors, Emily served as Chief of Staff at greenlight for girls, an organization that encourages girls to consider STEM-related careers by introducing them to the world of math and science in fun and exciting ways. She was a founding member of The Lewis Institute at Babson College, serving as its Associate Director for 11 years and growing it from an entrepreneurial startup to a multimillion-dollar portfolio of business focused on social impact across all sectors and issues. She developed the Green Events practice for Boston College’s Center for Corporate Citizenship to help link environmental sustainability efforts with corporate social responsibility initiatives. As an entrepreneur, she has started her own businesses and worked for a variety of organizations across sectors, including corporate, nonprofit, academia, and politics (though she promises to never return to politics!).

Emily is an alumna of Wellesley College and is currently an RSA Fellow. She has proudly been a champion and facilitator of Women2Women, an international leadership program for women in their teens and 20s, since 2013 and is privileged to support and empower the next generation of leaders who identify as female.
