THE CHAIR (S1/Ep17) — It Doesn’t Slow Mo in the Wind
Hello Beautiful People,
I’m Your Host Dreme.
I’m a Black woman, an educator turned tech entrepreneur but still an educator. Building a platform called THE CHAIR is a Black and Brown centered tech platform dedicated to supporting people on their hair journey. You can design hairboards, connect to hair stylists, and share hair care tips all in one space for a more joyous and streamlined experience. I built THE CHAIR Podcast to highlight hair journeys. A reminder to keep creating magic. As people sit in THE CHAIR you will get more than just hair stories. You will be immersed into experiences surrounding education, entrepreneurship, and identity. Enjoy listening to my stories and stories of my guests as we sit in THE CHAIR.
THE CHAIR (S1/Ep17) - It Doesn’t Slow Mo in the Wind
Nsika and I met in college. She was my partner on the dance floor when we met up in the basements, the dorm rooms, and the ACPs (all campus parties). She was also a beautiful theater performer as well. She has now moved from working from entertainment into philanthropy.
Having been raised in many cultures and environments, Nsika has had quite a journey with her hair. Learning to link her identity and love of herself through her hair, Nsika celebrates the intersection of heritage and self-expression through a deep passion for hair. She views her hair as a powerful medium to honor identity, culture, and heritage. Her relationship with her hair is one of exploration, embracing the beauty of individuality and a people, while celebrating the misadventures, transformations of her own journey. Come listen as Nsika sits in THE CHAIR.
