Witcher 4. Polygon reports that CD Projekt Red is making Cirilla the protagonist of the next title in the series.

Wyrmwood. Rascal reports that the gaming-aligned woodworking company has laid off 50% of its workers and filmed both the management discussions leading up to it and the ensuing discussions with the remaining workers.

Assassin’s Creed. IGN reports that the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition has dropped $50 in price as the season pass and early access portions are canceled.

Magic: the Gathering. Polygon reports that with the Final Fantasy set, Universes Beyond cards will become legal in all formats, and the release schedule will be increased to six sets per year. Upcoming sets include Final Fantasy, Innistrad, Aetherdrift, Tarkir, Edge of Eternities, and Spider-Man, alongside a Spongebob Secret Lair. Separately, WotC has also established a new Commander Panel, this time with 17 people who are now paid consultants.

Metal Slug Tactics. IGN reports that the upcoming strategy title will be released on November 5th. The game is coming to all consoles and Steam.

Nintendo. IGN reports that playtesters broke their NDA to leak information on Nintendo’s mysterious playtest. The test appears to be a social MMO focused on building and farming.

Vampire Survivors. IGN reports that the indie hit is getting a Castlevania DLC expansion. The expansion will be released on October 31st for $4.

Magic x Marvel. Polygon reports that Wizards of the Coast revealed an upcoming Secret Lair to promote their Marvel crossover at NYCC. The cards in the Secret Lair will include Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man, Storm, Wolverine, and cards related to them. Getting all the characters in this drop will require about $200.

Microsoft. Gamesindustry.biz reports that Microsoft has settled its antitrust case over the Activision Blizzard acquisition. As a result, the case has been dismissed with prejudice.

IGN reports that in light of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene in the southeastern US, Square Enix has halted the automatic deletion of character houses due to inactivity. This was done to give those affected by the storm ample time to log back in to maintain their homeownership.
