  • Résumé

  • The ABC of Demography is a podcast series created by Giulia Delogu and developed as a workshop within the course “Population History” (a.y. 2023/2024) of the PISE undergraduate program at Ca' Foscari University, with the aim of making key demographic topics more accessible.

The episodes, written and recorded by the students, analyze events (such as the Neolithic Revolution and epidemics), thinkers (like Robert Thomas Malthus, Ester Boserup, and Luigi Luca Cavalli Sforza), theories (such as mercantilism and neo-Malthusianism), tools (like the Venetian registers and Bills of Mortality), and concepts (such as density, life expectancy, and overpopulation), which over the millennia have defined and described the history of the human population.
