    Dennis has been involved with BIM and the corresponding software through research, analysis and discussion since 2003. His professional experience lends itself well to increasing efficiency in an office and improving on existing practices. Possessing experience in multiple disciplines (Structural, MEP and Architectural), and having taught many companies in BIM and Visual programming for Revit, Dennis has led the firm’s move from a strictly AutoCAD shop to a BIM shop. Additionally, he has a strong background with contracts, proposals, and Zoning submissions (SPA, MV, etc.) and has worked heavily in Multi-Residential and Commercial as well as script generation/training/Project Coordination for many different types of projects.

    Arash is the perfect combination of academic awareness and industry exposure and holds a Ph.D. in construction engineering and management technologies and co-founded the Building Innovation Research Centre at the University of Toronto. He is an entrepreneur and innovator who co-founded AECO Innovation Lab in pursuit of engaging the immense talent in our academia to solve the problems of the #aecindustry. Through various initiatives like #OneOntario, he is to lead the digital transformation of #AEC industries and governments through collaborative R&D projects, innovative products, and expert consulting. He was recently named as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in Canadian Construction for his innovative work. Also, he is continuously contributing to the industry serving as Research Chair of the Toronto BIM Community (tBIMc)) and is on the board of directors of buildingSMART Canada.

    Brandon Searle has background in Civil Engineering and Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. He has also worked with Opus International Consultants that later became WSP as asset management consultant. While with WSP, he worked toward an M.Eng. focusing on infrastructure management and completed a broad collection of courses in economics, project management, business, finance, and engineering. With all this amazing education and experience behind him, he was given opportunity to lead UNB’s OCRC as Innovation Director. In this role he focuses on operations and business development by bringing industry partners and problems to researchers in academia together to help create innovative solutions for the construction sector. Additionally, his’s role involves creating a national network of researchers to advance new technologies and practices in the Canadian construction industry.

    Leslie Wright is someone who has a firsthand experience and has actively participated in digital transformation in AEC.  He has witnessed the change from paper to data rich models He has been an Architectural practitioner working on variety of project for several years. Past 5 years he has worked with City of Windsor’s building department as a plan’s examiner and now Digital Transformation Specialist. In this role he is responsible for overseeing the building department’s Technology adoption process.  He is also helping building department establish policies that can facilitate the city to work with Development Service's to improve permitting process. Our today’s discussion will revolve around BIM adoption in our Municipalities and what can be done to expedite the process.
