Good morning, and Go Blue! Today we renew the greatest rivalry in sports, as once again we face the Buckeyes, this time down in Columbus. While Michigan has had different teams that we'd consider our number one rivals over our 145 years of pigskin prowess, make no mistake that from Ohio's perspective, it has always been about that team up north. So it's no surprise that Michigan figures deep in many of Ohio State's traditions. Consider that, in 1902, after witnessing Fielding Yost's crew pound his Buckeyes 86-0 in Ann Arbor, a teary-eyed Ohio State freshman named Francis Cornell wrote the words to Carmen Ohio, the OSU alma mater, on that sad train ride home.

Throw out the record books on any given Saturday. They put their pants on one leg at a time just like we do. Games aren't won on paper, you still have to play the game. Whoever runs the ball better, whoever takes care of the ball better, often sells tickets, defense wins championships. Insert your favorite cliché here because that's the state of this Michigan team as they head into the game. Knowing the one irrefutable sports axiom, the team who scores the most points will win the game. Does one breakout offensive performance mean we're finally capable of producing those points? Probably not. You can find us at TheMichiganDefenders.com.

All right, Joe, you always come to us on game day with your game day arguments, so what do you have us for us today? At the start of the season, I don't think anyone had today's game circled as a red letter, critical must win. But this game is every bit of that. In the last couple of days, as you mentioned, Ira, we've had an undeniable surge in energy in the program. But now bowl eligibility and extra practices may have taken on an even greater meaning, particularly if Underwood and other players become early enrollees and are allowed to practice. But one player, no matter how great, does not a team make. While the first domino may have fallen, the rest have to be in line to complete the chain reaction. How strange it is for Michigan to have gone from being resoundingly criticized for having a poor NIL game to now being criticized for being at the fore of it. And add to that revenue sharing next year, and this could be one wild December for transfers and one wild ride. to the finish line in recruiting. But don't forget the second part of Bo's legendary the team speech. After you leave here, you can go anywhere. You want to play anywhere you want to play, but you will never play for a team again. The law office of Joseph A. Simon, located right across the street from Michigan Football Stadium. All we do is criminal defense. Anything from game day offenses to drunk driving charges to serious felony charges, primarily Washtenaw County, all surrounding counties as well. You can find us at TheMichiganDefenders.com.

This week in Michigan football history with Professor Greg Dooley. Michigan has squared off against countless teams that could be called our rivals over the years. But once upon a time, we had one clear nemesis in the field. And it wasn't Ohio State, Michigan State, or even Notre Dame. It was a conference foe no longer in the Big Ten. I'm talking about the alma mater of President Ono himself, the University of Chicago. For more, check out mvictors.com and wtka.com.

This week in Michigan football history with Professor Greg Dooley. "Good afternoon! Today we journey back to 1907, a year that marked the beginning of a truly unique chapter in Michigan football history. On this very day, the Wolverines traveled south to the heart of Nashville, Tennessee to face off against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Michigan was a founding member of what we now know as the Big Ten. Back then it was the Western Conference, established in 1896. The decade that followed saw an explosion of popularity in football, with schools like Chicago, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and of course Michigan leading the charge and fueling the frenzy."

Please welcome for today's game day argument, our good friend, the Silver Fox, our legal advisor, Joe Simon. All right, Joe, your game day argument. What do you have for us? I think you guys are going to like this. There's an old adage in my business. When the facts are against you, argue the law. When the law is against you, argue the facts. When the facts and the law are against you, just argue. And I guess today's football equivalent would be, if the defense is against you, ball out on offense. If the offense is against you, ball out on defense. If the offense and defense are against you, just ball out. You can find Joe at TheMichiganDefenders.com
