À propos de cet audio

The purpose of this podcast is to explain my reasons for writing my novel, The Final Sleep. My novel imagines a world that grapples with the systematic, natural loss of every man of majority European descent and presents one possible version of that scenario’s aftermath. It also explores the possible reasons for those losses and whether the world is, ultimately, better for those losses. My novel, however, is not meant to be a prescription, suggestion or even a secret desire. It is a simple thought experiment. It is meant to evoke a conversation.Clif Freeman Monde

    Oct 19 2025

This episode talks about my novel, The Final Sleep, being a "thought experiment" and not a prescription. Though this is a challenging topic, we must confront the frustrating truth about the negative influence that men of European descent have had on the people of the planet. We can't fix a problem without admitting we have one.***My novel, The Final Sleep, imagines an alternate timeline where a mysterious ailment begins exclusively killing men of European descent. Over several years, global society is thrown into turmoil. Cause and cure remain out of reach despite unprecedented international cooperation and financial resources being brought to bear. As the world grapples with mass death and crumbling power structures, a potential genetic reckoning forces humanity to confront long-buried truths about privilege, power, and identity. Survivors must also consider the unthinkable: forging a new future in the absence of White men..***

  • ep 1: I don't hate White men
    Sep 26 2022

    I don’t hate White men.

I just don’t understand why they seem to have every advantage in today’s society. Both in America and globally. I also don’t understand why Black men, like myself, seem to always be behind the eight ball in our society. And why, whenever I see Blacks, other minorities, or women being oppressed, it always seems to be at the hands of White men, or men of European descent?

My novel explores a scenario where men of European descent are removed from the equation and how the rest of the world fares with them gone. I wrote The Final Sleep to provoke an uncomfortable, but necessary conversation that is long overdue:

Are White men simply better than everyone else in society?
    Or…
Is our society sustaining and accepting an unfair balance of power tipped toward men of European descent?
