The Great Gildersleeve | (16) Selling the Iron Reindeer | 12-14-1941

Facing a budget crunch, Gildersleeve is also faced with a household who all need money to spend on the upcoming Christmas holiday season. He has over extended himself in buying war bonds to do the patriotic thing,. Now the family each go on a quest to find resources to raise their own money to spend.

Marjorie is set on selling an iron deer to raise money, and her conversation with the junk man leads to an interesting exchange of words. At the same time, Birdie has designs on the deer, as does Leroy and Gildersleeve. Who will win the race to sell it for scrap money?

Mr Lewellyn, the man who sounds like Elmer Fudd, is still in town, and chats with Gildersleeve about his predicament. Can the man help Gildersleeve with some of his own bookkeepping woes? Will the multiple claims on the iron deer be cleared up? Who is getting the best deal for the disappearing deer?
