  • Writing Theatre History with Jennifer Ashley Tepper
    Feb 13 2025

This is one of those dream guests episodes. As I conceived this podcast, I made a list of New Yorkers I would love to have on the podcast and up there was Jennifer Ashley Tepper.

Jennifer is a multi-hyphenate theatre extraordinaire. She is the Creative and Programming Director at 54 Below, the author of Women Writing Musicals: The Legacy that the History Left Out and The Untold Stories of Broadway book series, and the conceiver of The Jonathan Larson Project. And that’s not even all of it.

I’ve admired Jennifer and her work for a long time and it was a lot of fun talking about documenting New York and theatre history, preserving Jonathan Larson’s legacy, and the overall joy of being excited about things.

  • Cherry Lou Sy on Writing Love Can’t Feed You
    Jan 16 2025

Few things are as fun as bragging about the successes of your collaborators. And the pod is a great place to do it. I’m really excited to share this conversation with author and playwright Cherry Lou Sy who recently released her debut novel Love Can’t Feed You through Dutton/Penguin Random House. Cherry and I were classmates at Brooklyn College where we made theatre together. We got to chat about her life as a debut novelist, writing for the stage, and how the book came to be.

Some say New York City stories are found in the most unlikely places and sometimes right in front of your eyes or right in front of your door. Sara Leeds has discovered just that with her social media series, Doorman Stories, where she interviews the city’s residential doormen, bouncers, and more. On this episode, we discussed the series, Sara’s personal social media journey, and why we love telling and sharing stories.

  • Beyond the Rotunda with Guggenheim’s Karen Vidangos
    Oct 1 2024

During my quest to visit every museum in New York City, I’ve met some incredible people who work behind the scenes at some of my favorite institutions including today’s guest Karen Vidangos. She serves as the Social Media Manager at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. Karen also elevates other Latinx perspectives in the arts with her social media account @latinainmuseums and by founding the Latinx Art Collective. It was so great to chat with Karen about her work, how she got into the field, and how we can encourage other institutions to present more diverse work.
