The Outcast Intellectual Podcast

Auteur(s): Isaak Hyde
  • Résumé

  • An existential, individualist podcast centered on:

    • Intelligence
    • Unwavering resolve
    • Compassion
    • Autonomy
    • And having a good time

We didn't hear people having these conversations in a non-partisan, respectful, truly critical manner. So... we decided to do it ourselves. Even though being independent and intellectual in many ways makes one an outcast.

Hosted by Isaak Hyde and often featuring awesome guests, this podcast is for you if you want to hear ideas and perspectives unlike the rehashed slogans and straw man arguments drowning everyone in most media.

We've had hunters talking about ethics of hunting with vegetarians, atheists discussing the idea of faith with devout believers, and so much more - ALL while being both authentic and respectful.

Oh, and we have a pretty dark, sarcastic sense of humor too. So watch that coffee drinking while you listen. We're not responsible for your laundry bill ;)

Finally, if you're an extremist of any kind, you likely won't enjoy this podcast: we don't mince words about the nonsense of everything from wokeness to conservatism, and so on. Being non-partisan means no one gets a free pass. And it means being fair with perspectives we don't like, too.

That's what The Outcast Intellectual Podcast is about.

Well, today we're going to give our own psych and biology-informed take. (And of course Isaak's typical zero-chill attitude)

Not judging and so on are pushed as being so desirable- but what's the darker side of "just be nice" and believing that reinforcing someone's comfort zone is the same as actually helping them?

  • Are "Victims" Really To Blame?
    Mar 6 2023

Responsibility as an idea gets addressed constantly, but there isn't much attention given to what it means to actually be responsible yourself, and all the different factors that play into taking responsibility- as well as our relationship with it, like feeling guilty. Well, that's the kind of shiz we're talking about in today's session.
