Welcome to Episode 0 of the Secret City Podcast brought to you by the Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department of the City of Oak Ridge, Tn. This podcast exists so that we may chat with and learn from the citizens and professionals in the field - sharing their insights, ideas, and experiences of what it is like to live, work and play in this historic city of Oak Ridge, TN aka the Secret City.
Born of war, and rich in history, Oak Ridge was built in 1942 and was the first and largest of the three Manhattan Project sites built to produce the world's first atomic weapon that helped win World War II. Today, Oak Ridge is a city that thrives with scientific achievements, scenic beauty, thrilling outdoor adventure, and fascinating history. This truly is a great city to live in and raise a family. We promise to have something for everyone in this podcast and some very interesting topics. Hosted by the Recreation and Parks Department we will keep you abreast of upcoming events and happenings, so stay tuned and be sure to subscribe!
