In this second part of the subject of divine service, we continue our discussion on what divine service is.

Having successfully overcome Satan's temptations during the pre-engagement examination, we are now set to enter the service of God. But what really is divine service? This is the discussion we shall be having here.

We conclude on the pre-engagement examination of the Lord Jesus as we discuss His temptation by Satan. By the grace of God, lessons will be learnt, and hopefully, we shall be better prepared to face our own pre-engagement examination, when the time comes.

We look at another case study as it relates to the pre-engagement examination of the believer. This time it is the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray that the Lord will grant us understanding and wisdom as we study.

Having looked at the theology of the subject of pre-engagement examination in our last podcast, we shall now look at the pre-engagement examination of Joseph (the eleventh of twelve brothers) to learn some very vital lessons in more practical terms.

Before we can get into the service of God, we must, of necessity, pass through an examination, which is a proving, probing, testing, inquisition, investigation, and temptation of the individual concerned. How this works and why it is needed is the subject of our discussion.

When many come into the service of God, they presume that God is so badly in need of people to serve Him that He would take just anyone who offers himself to serve. This is not true! God desires to have people who have been sanctified and consecrated serve Him. This notwithstanding, God will not work with people who have bags and baggage from their past, who have not dealt with them via true repentance and restitution; hence, our discussion on dealing with these bags and baggage long before they become full-blown debilitating and destructive venom down the road in His service.
