Have you ever had to take out a loan against your home or vehicle? How about sell something at a pawnshop? It can be risky business when you have to borrow money against your property. There’s always the chance that you might not be able to pay it back. Today in his message, Pastor Ken teaches you that there was no way you could pay the debt of sin, and that’s why Jesus paid it for you. You owed your life as payment for your sin, so Jesus stepped in to pay your debt and set you free.

We all have our burdens to bear in life. Some struggle with physical or emotional burdens, while others are just trying to put bread on the table. It’s not like in times past when we all walked around carrying heavy packs on our shoulders, but it sure can feel like that sometimes. We can get overly familiar with the sacrifice God made when He sent Jesus to take our place, to take our sin on Himself, and submit to death on the cross. What would we think of an Earthly father who did that? A dad who sends his son to die in the place of a group of violent criminals? It’s unheard of. But Pastor Ken gives such good news today that God loves you so much, that He sent His Son to die in your place, to take the punishment that you deserved. And He did it because you’re worth it to Him.

The fact that Jesus came down from heaven to take our place on the cross so that we might be saved is amazing. It’s an impossible act of love that we can’t even begin to grasp. Even so, as they say, “familiarity breeds contempt,” and we forget the reality of what Jesus went through for us. In today’s message, Pastor Ken reminds you of the great depth of love that Jesus has for you that surpasses all understanding. Spend time with Him in prayer and His Word, so that you don’t lose the joy of salvation.

We’ve heard that “we’re like sheep” so many times that we’ve lost the meaning behind the analogy. When we picture sheep, images of clean, fluffy, nice animals grazing peacefully in a crisp, green field come to mind. But if you know sheep, you know that’s not reality. You need to spend time in the Word, so you know the Shepherd’s voice and can follow Him.

The world likes to think that if we do more good than bad, then the scales of justice will tilt in our favor, and we’ll go to heaven. “We don’t need religion; just be a good person and you’ll be fine.” This lie isn’t new. It’s been around since Adam and Eve and has only gained momentum over the centuries. But Pastor Ken is direct in letting you know that you are guilty. There’s no way around it. Jesus has taken your sin. He has removed the curse of sin and death and wants to walk with you in life.

When you’re sick, injured, or hurting, where’s the first place you turn? For most of us, the first place we’d go is to a doctor. But is that where we should place all our trust? While going to the doctor is very important, Pastor Ken wants you to realize in today’s message - that God still does miracles and heals today. When Jesus was crucified and resurrected, He took all your sin and all your afflictions. He conquered sin, death, and sickness. But it’s up to you to reach out in faith and to receive His provision.
