  • Résumé

  • Welcome to the Third Coast Cycling Podcast with Tim O'Malley and Simone Hussussian. This podcast is about the people, places and events that make Chicago cycling what it is, as well as bits and pieces on riding stronger, smarter and smoother. We are bringing you this podcast because we feel the Chicago area cycling scene is awesome (except in January and February). We want to share our experiences as well and introduce you to the cool people that make up the Chicago cycling scene. Our podcast will cover topics such as...local races, stories, rides and destinations, teams, gear and components, and more as it relates to local cycling in and around Chicago (and yes, we may even dip a toe into Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa).

  • Getaway Cycling with Tom Justice
    Jan 22 2025

Tom Justice is a cyclist from the Chicago area who had aspirations of going to the Olympic for track cycling. He was also a bank robber and his escape vehicle of choice was the bicycle. In this episode, we talk to Tom about how he got into cycling, how cycling played a role in his criminal side hustle, and what he has been up to since finishing his sentence in 2011. Unsurprisingly, Tom is back on his bicycle. He can often be found on group rides, which is how he met Tim, or at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome. If you're interested in track cycling, Tom highly recommends checking out the programming offered by the Northbrook Cycle Committee at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome.
